Patek Philippe
Automatic Chronograph
Representing a first for Patek Philippe, this mechanical self-winding movement with column-wheel chronograph and flyback function is distinguished by an original instruction: instead of a clutch wheel mounted on a lever and pivoting to mesh with the chronograph gear-train, this mechanism operates via two clamps on a clutch disc. This system places the seconds wheel and the chronograph hand in contact by friction when the latter is in operation, and disengages them when the chronograph hand is stopped. This technique ensures security and eliminates any risk of jumping or moving backwards. Another special feature lies in the display of the usual counters on a single subdial at 6 o’clock. The readability of the display is enhanced by playing with the colours of the hands and numerals. Three apertures in the upper part of the dial indicate the day, the date and the month.Watch type: Mechanical Chronographs
